I love your blog I find it so inspirational I am always thinking about saving money and your ideas are brilliant. I live in NZ and the cost of living is rising here too. The minimum wage is not a liveable wage and the issues the UK has are also relevant in NZ. We don't have the stores you mention in your blog... in fact we only have two main competing supermarket retailers and they are very much of a muchness ... I find it cheaper to go to a "boutique" supermarket where the food is of a greater quality and I only shop there for specials. I grow most of my veg and a friend and I swap veges..... we grow different things and so it's a win win situation. Meat in NZ appears to be cheaper than in the UK which I am eternally grateful for but we do eat our share of vegetarian meals too. Wish I could tune into the Radio station you speak on I would enjoy listening to your ideas too. Keep up the good work...people around the world are followers for all the right reasons.
Thank you for sharing your story, it has given us hope, that we too, can escape from our financial situation. I will be following a lot of your advice and tips in the hope that we can be free of debt eventually. Thank you for taking away the fear of change!
Thank you for sharing your inspirational story, we are embarking on our own journey of financial redemption and reading this has taken the fear out of it :)
An inspiration indeed! We are also swimming against the tide and I have to say, it's been hard. However, we are treating it as a challenge and we're both amazed that 6 months on not only are we managing, we are thriving. We've not yet had to touch our savings except for an essential car repair, and it's all been achieved by frugal shopping, planning and cooking. We've had great support from our friends during this difficult time, more than once we've been gifted a couple of fresh pheasant, or an invitation to dinner. I'm glad so many people have been helped by your story and your example. Change is scary but we are stronger than we think.
