Hello Dear Reader,
So far, I’ve kept every off cut and surplus piece of fabric over 3″ square! I had bags of bits and pieces and notions, extra equipment and resources! Now, I’ve had a really good tidy up and sort out in the sewing room and I have a box full of fabric and notions to giveaway.
I’m off the South West Quilting Festival on Friday 5th April and need to make room! If you’ve been, then you will know what I’m talking about.
I’ve now filled a box, weighing in at 5KG of fabric, thread, notions, patterns, templates, binding and even scissors to be given away. It’s all usable quilting fabric (with some Christmas fabric) and there’s easily enough to make a kingsize scrappy quilt. It’s a massive give away and I’ve decided to run it until 8am Tuesday 2nd April.

Been so inspired by your blog over the last year or two and you have helped me appreciate how much I overspend on things that just aren't necessary. I'm very new to sewing and quilting - just started in December - and have discovered that I love it! I'd appreciate being entered into your draw for your fabric box. You'd make me one happy granny! Thank you.

Hello Froogs Please could you enter me for the giveaway, I have been following you for years and am grateful for all the great advice, recipes and inspiration. My current aspiration is to 'increase my household GDP', which I thought was a brilliant way of phrasing it 🙂 Have fun at the quilting show, I look forward to seeing your photos and gleaned ideas. Dear Froogs . . .
Do you have any good tips for books (to borrow from the library of course!) or websites which can help the quilting beginner to get started please? I am armed with my trusty Singer sewing machine, my old duvet cover with rosebuds (from M&S which I had for my birthday 30-odd years ago and still have in the airing cupboard) plus fabric from my daughter's dresses that I couldn't bear to part with . . . I'm itching to get started but not really sure what to do with pattern templates, wadding etc etc etc.
Any help or direction (or to previous blog entries for example!) is much appreciated . . . or from other commentators already happily quilting away? Kitty x

Thanks for that - what would we do without computers? I was wondering about literally how you get started - what do you need to get hold of beyond the fabrics for the patchwork part i.e. what goes inside the quilt, binding the edges, do you use the same colour cotton thread throughout and so on. These practical things have always been the stumbling block for me - I have borrowed books from the library before but they seem to be overly complicated? x

Please can you tell me what type of wadding you use in your quilts?

Hi Froogs, I'd love to be in with a chance to win the giveaway please. I always look out for your quilting posts and would love to have a go but simply can't afford to spend even pennies on shirts/etc to get started with at the moment. Every penny of our money is accounted for so it would be a prize of infinite worth to me. I've got my fingers crossed!

Hi Froogs I'd love a chance to win this prize if you'd enter me please. I look out for your quilting posts and would love to have a go but at the moment I can't even afford the pennies it would cost to buy the shirts as each and every penny we have is budgeted and accounted for. This prize would truly be priceless to us as it would give me a chance to have a go at making a quilt for the first time. Thanks for your inspiring blog, you make us all feel a bit less alone in this.
