Celebrating the positives of a wonderful life.
Hello Dear Reader,
I thought I'd share a bit of mindfulness today. Here are the things I'm grateful for today
My healthy family who work hard on being positive, occupied, busy and well.
Being close to my family and being able to get together.
Great times with friends.
The positive attitudes of the people I surround myself with.
Cornwall won at Twickenham today!
I live comfortably.
I live in freedom.
I live in a country in peacetime.
I live in a democracy.
I have choices.
The changing seasons.
I have a job I love.
I am safe and loved.
There is food in the house.
Fresh air.
It's not raining.
Warm breeze.
I'm well enough and motivated enough to exercise.
The lush green trees and fields I can see from the window as I type.
Clean clothes.
My resilience, health and tenacity.
I started writing this blog as a point of reflection where I could look at the sum of all my days. I no longer have any reasons to moan, to worry, to be unhappy and can now reflect on all the good times that make this life so wonderful. It might all sound a bit smug and self satisfied but no one has to read it. I could sit on my backside and do nothing but I would be bored and that's just not me. Reflecting on this week, we've gardened, walked, cycled, met up with friends, gone out with family (offspring are well), eaten out, some more walking, some decorating, some de-cluttering, had my hair done, been to the salon, had lots of lazy lie ins, stacked away the winter logs, watched films and read books. We've spent no more than we could afford and had budgeted for and have topped up our relaxation batteries for the weeks ahead until the summer break when we go away.
Over to you to share your mindfulness; what do you have to be grateful for today?
Until tomorrow,
Love Froogs xxxx

ReplyDeleteI am grateful that I have a supportive partner who doesn't put me down and helps me realise all the things I've always wanted to do but wasn't brave enough to do by myself. I waited a long time to find him but he was worth the wait :-)
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for all the things you mentioned plus I live in the beautiful county of Yorkshire and I was fortunate enough to take early retirement along with my husband, which leaves us free to enjoy our daily life together.
ReplyDeleteBless you both, K xxx
Wow, just so many things! My family are healthy, I am healthy, we live in freedom, we have food and a roof. We have family who love us. Greenery. Our rabbits. We have adventures. We have a fridge. We have free education. And a free nhs! So many more, too many to the really! :) I am A very lucky person xxx
ReplyDeleteMy husband passed away at 59 last October and I am grateful that every one of our married 23 years was beautiful and I was fortunate to meet a most loving and kind man. I am grateful for my lovely daughters, and for this and Morgan's websites that ground me each day as we adapt to our different life. Thank you, I read your posts most days and when I am feeling low, you often lift me back up.
ReplyDeletea lovely list and a good reminder of whats really important. I' feeling grateful this morning that my hubby was not badly injured in an accident last week,it does put things in perspective :)
ReplyDeleteSo enormously grateful to the wonderful family that granted my husband the gift of life despite their grief.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gift beyond comprehension. I thank that family too.
DeleteFor a while I kept a gratitude journal. It forced me to look for positives rather than negatives. Soem say the human brain is designed to focus on negatives and that happiness is learned. My day is new but the sky is dry, the garbage men will take my trash away ( how I love modern sanitation after a childhood with an outback "Dunny", I have roof, a bed, clothing. access to a car, three healthy children and even for my father, who has Alzheimer's and is blind, I am happy that he is in a state of art facility where he is safe and some of the staff genuinely love him. I could write more but I am sure everyone gets the message.
ReplyDeleteMy difficulty is coping with the mundane because i am a carer and it is rare to be able to do what I would like. I have had some fantastic holidays and have enjoyed them. However, even my last one meant I had two elderly ladies under my care. I am learning to say enough I need some time.
Grateful for:
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend, our wedding in 1.5 months, our families and our own health, the cat, our garden, the bird songs, our dreams, friends, my boyfriends success in his job, my collegues and my salary, being able to afford a therapy for my health issues that actually helps, my kitchen, food, books, internet, not having natural disasters or war, the sunshine, hot water bottles..the list goes on
certainly not the speeding fine that dropped through my letter box on Saturday ! 35 mph in a 30 limit, they got me ! - £100 to pay.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely for you Frugal Queen to be where you are today. I have followed your blog from the beginning and you deserve all of those things for which you are grateful. You worked hard for them. I never forget to be grateful for all I have in my life. My list is similar to yours. Aren't we fortunate.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my 37 years as a nurse. I have got to know many wonderful people along the way and see humanity at it's best: not only the wonderful patients and their families but the loving compassion of the staff I have been fortunate to work with. I also am grateful for the lessons learned during the periods of adversity in my life for without them I don't think I would appreciate just how good I have it. I am also grateful to have been granted 57 years of life so far because it looked like I would not make it out of my early 30s. I have Lupus and have had serious ups and downs in my health including blood clots and strokes and I am still here and able to work! Also am grateful to my husband and friends who have always been there for me. I am also grateful to live in the mountains of western NC - one of the most beautiful places on earth.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for so many things, but most of all for me being part of a team of two that can cope with and work our way through anything together. Life's messy at the moment but it's just part of our journey to a wonderful future of being together all the time and being reliant on ourselves for most of what we want to do.
ReplyDeleteAnd we've just posted off another mortgage payment of an additional 10% off our total outstanding balance, so we're also on our way to being mortgage free :-)
